Nairobi is the largest city as well as the capital of Kenya. It is a cosmopolitan city, blessed with the best wildlife globally, making it a great safari destination. Known as the 'Green City in the Sun', it is also the most populated city in East Africa and the fourth largest in Africa.
The city got its name from a Maasai phrase 'Enkare Nairobi' meaning “cool waters”. The Nairobi province is located on the Nairobi River in the south of the country.
In 1899, it was popular as a simple rail depot on the railway connecting Mombasa and Uganda. In 1963, the city became the capital of Kenya. Today, Nairobi is a well-known hub for business and culture.
